There are too many great things about public librianship, library school and reading in general to continue my blogging hiatus. Story time continues to be that ethereal (lightness of being) time in the work week that I look to for that balance, that passing glimpse at the world in a snapshot moment of peace and beauty. It is that thirty minutes or so that is all about the story and the audience and getting them to that place where suddenly even the walls and floor don't exist because the story is the only thing that is happening and even the storyteller is secondary. Any fears I have about where life will lead me after library school just disappear during that time. This whole bit is probably best encapsulated in one of those signs that reads "you might be a children's librarian if...."
